Boat Rides!

We've been taking advantage of the beautiful summer weather by spending time on my parents' pontoon boat and cruising on the Wisconsin River. Kaylen's been on the boat 3 times and usually falls asleep to the quiet hum of the motor and the soft rocking of the waves. She LOVES being on the water as much as we do!
sleepy eyes...

Daddy's favorite:)

Once again, hiding her eyes under her hat brim.

Kaylen is such a good baby. She's so content to be looking around and checking out the world around her! She's especially happy when we take her outside to look around.

Lounging in her swimsuit...no tanning yet!

Happy Father's Day Daddy!

Kaylen and Daddy on Father's Day

My cousin Hillary got married Saturday of Father's Day weekend at Duck Lake. I took the opportunity to get a picture of Kaylen taken with Great Grandma Guenthner (my grandma).

Giving daddy hugs:)

Kaylen's first bottle:) We've given her 2 now and she does pretty well taking them! We want to get her used to taking a bottle in case I'm gone for more than a couple of hours sometime.

1 Month Doctor Appointment

Kaylen had her 1 month doctor visit today. She's up to 9 pounds 12 ounces and 21 inches long. Doctor said she's growing perfectly:) She was a very good girl at the doctor. She liked to look around at the bright lights and new pictures on the wall. She even smiled at the doctor while she was doing her exam. The doctor heard a slight heart murmur at birth and at her 1 week appointment, even though she didn't hear it today we have an appointment with a pediatric cardiologist from Madison just to double check that it's nothing more serious than it appears. We see that doctor July 7th. She's still being such a good baby, we can't believe how lucky we are! She's starting to sleep longer at night too, which is good because Chad goes back to work tomorrow. She's usually up around 1am and then around 4 or 5 am and usually goes back to sleep pretty well for us. We are having so much fun with her now!!

Kaylen's First Month!

Kaylen has changed and grown so much over the past 4 weeks, we can't believe it. She's starting to show her personality now and she's even trying to talk to us. It's so cute to see her little tongue moving around as she's trying to make sounds.
The best thing the past month has given us is smiles! She looks right at us and smiles when we talk to her now:) Luckily I caught some of her first smiles on camera.

So happy!

Sometimes when I talk to her I get this look...like she's really listening to me and trying to figure out what I'm telling her.

Sam has a new found love for hockey. And, since Uncle Chad was a hockey player, we were able to take him to the ice rink in Antigo so he could skate for the first time and get a tour of the benches, locker room, and penalty box.

Sam is extremely athletic and has amazing hand-eye coordination. He can already shoot and make goals!

Skating was a little more difficult for him since he's never been on skates before. Once he figured out how to keep his feet on the ice he did pretty well! He's a pretty smart 3-year-old!

We were in Antigo so our niece Mallory could be baptized! She was so cute and during this part she was talking to the Pastor! She's a really happy little girl and has lots of smiles for us too.

My sister bought this awesome double stroller and we took the cousins for a walk in it. Of course Chad and my brother-in-law Mike like it for the beer can holders!

Mallory and Kaylen enjoyed the walk and even both fell asleep.

We just can't resist putting these two girls together and seeing what they do. Now that Mallory is a little older, she really focuses on Kaylen and was grabbing her hands and staring at her.

Kaylen in her crib! The funny thing about this picture is that Kaylen likes to wake up between 3:00 and 4:00 a.m and doesn't want to go back to sleep. She'll wake up and eat, then stare at us with big blue eyes. She's very content during this time, but is NOT tired until about 5:00 when she'll fall back to sleep. So this shirt is very true!

Our second family picture! The first was the day after Kaylen was born in the hospital.

A "Guenthner" family photo!
Pictured left to right:
Chad, Me, Kaylen, my dad Bob, my mom Cheri, nephew Sam, my sister Bobbi, niece Mallory and brother-in-law Mike.

Kaylen has started to play with toys now! She focuses on and watches objects move and sometimes can figure out how to get her hand to hit the toys and make a noise. It's fun to play with her.
Again, hat over eyes. Chad calls her a gangster when she does this. This picture is of Kaylen's first pontoon boat ride at my parent's cottage.

We can't believe it's been a month already since Kaylen was born. Everyone told us how fast time would go and how much she would change, but it's hard to understand until you live it. Everyday brings something new for us. We are enjoying every second of getting to know her and watch her grow. She's just so darn cute!!

Getting to Know Kaylen

Kaylen is two weeks old already...growing and changing everyday! We're starting to learn what each of her cries are for and some of things she likes and dislikes. So far she's been a really good baby. She sleeps well, even when we go to the Woodchucks baseball game or out to lunch!! She's eating well and getting some chubby cheeks now. She likes walks outside and taking baths. She HATES getting her diaper changed or having to wait for me to feed her. Above is a picture of Kaylen in a sleeper that was mine when I was a little baby! My mom brought me a whole tub of clothes from Bobbi and I so it's fun to put Kaylen in them now.
Sometimes Kaylen loves the swing, other times not so much...

Cousin McKenna came to visit Kaylen and loved giving her kisses and holding her. McKenna cried when we took Kaylen off her lap and she had to go home. I can't wait until Kaylen's old enough to walk and play with McKenna.

One of Kaylen's first baths. She loves lying in the bathtub and looking at the lights and mirror. She usually cries when we have to take her out!

Tiny feet:) I love touching her cute little toes and fingers.

This picture is one of my favorite of her so far. We take her outside for walks everyday we can. Apparently she didn't like the bright sun because she would tilt her head up so her hat would cover her eyes. Every time I fixed it, she would do it again. It was so cute!
